A review of the Horror Game on Psychedelics, The Evil Within 2
If you are a horror fan, most likely you also enjoy a great interactive horror video game. Instead of watching a horror film play out, gamers can feel like the main character. You have a chance to be the protagonists shooting zombies, fighting spirits and discovering terrifying worlds.
It is for this reason that The Evil Within is a popular video game for gamers and horror experts. Gamers can be Sebastian Castellanos as they fight off disfigured creatures that you will only find in your nightmares.
With the popularity of the first Evil Within game came Evil Within 2. This game is perfect for fans of old-school horror movies and fans of the first game. Read on and find out why you need to be a gamer of Evil Within 2.
The story picks up several years after the first edition of The Evil Within ends. You still come across Sebastian grieving the loss of his family while experiencing confusion over his battle in the devilish world. Sebastian then decides to enter into his worst nightmare for a chance to save his daughter from the Union.
The biggest difference between the second game and the first is in the more action andadventure. The the first edition was more isolated and quite structured but the second one has a lot more freedom. You have the option of wandering around and exploring the world, talk and interact with more characters as well as engage in various optional events.
There are multiple surprising features of the game. For example, there is a map that will show where you are and where you need to go. But there are off-the-beaten paths on the map, and it is inspired that you visit those places. You will find the most valuable resources in these unmarked areas.
AS the game continues, everything changes from being casual and cosy. With time, the Union descends into chaos, the world Sebastian knew turns on him creating a nightmare where he can’t escape. The Union turns into a more bigger nightmare by taking the world you thought you knew and transcended it into something else.
In the first game, Castellanos struggled as it was his first time getting into the Union and didn’t know how to handle it. But in this second game, Sebastian is hardened and since he has been through the Union knows that he expects to fight off a ghost of monster. In this game, he also shows confidence in strange ways such as developing a sense of humor and being able to handle problems with ease, rather than being weary that he was in the first game. But the only goal he has in mind is rescuing his daughter and the reason why he is grounded.
Sebastian is not alone in the quest for his daughter. He has a myriad of villains who give him an additional problem. These villains include the following
Stefano Valenti- he doesn’t seem like a bad guy as he dresses very well but is one of the evilest characters in the game. He is looking for Sebastian’s daughter to use her powers.
Anima is a strange ghost haunting Union’s street.
In the first Evil Within, Ruben Victoriano or Ruvik was the primary antagonist but his presence in the second game is limited.
Laura was once Ruvik’s sister but later turned into a multi-limbed creature. She was a prominent monster in the first game but quickly dies in the second game.
